Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently announced they will be upbringing their new baby as vegan. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to welcome the new addition of their family in spring 2019. According to an unnamed source, “Meghan wants her baby to be raised a vegan.” The alleged move fits well with the couples recent commitment towards a plant-based diet. The 37-year-old former actor adhears to a strict vegan diet during the week while Harry has been cutting back on his meat intake and add more fruits and veggies, according to an inside source. The move to more plant-based foods expanded further than diet as the couple requested for vegan paint in the decorating of their nursery, which was done in neutral colors like grey and white. The vegan pain was provided by the Organic and Natural Paint Co. which is made from 100% toxic free ingredients. The vegan product is infused with rosemary and eucalyptus essential oils which help with providing clean air to the baby’s room.
Moving away from the family tradition, Prince Harry decided not to partake in the royal family’s Boxing Day hunt in 2017, and opted out of his family’s annual bird shooting trip in 2018. In today’s time it seems that more parents are choosing bring their children up on a plant-based diet.
Research from 2018 showed that one in 12 families in the UK are providing their children a plant-based diet. The main reason behind this is the health facts behind plant-based foods. Meat and other animal products have been linked to major health concerns over the years including heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Just the opposite, diets rich in plant-based foods have been linked to top notch health. This is why raising vegan babies will benefit him or her as they grow into a young adult.
The Royal Family on Veganaism
The Royal Family and the Duchess of Sussex aren’t the only members of the royal family interested in a plant-based diet and raising vegan babies. Last month, it was reported that Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales was starting to eat more plant-based food products, and let meat. In a discussion with vegetarian historian Sir David Attenborough, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, spoke about the future of the planet. The two discussed the importance of changing our personal live one at a time and to address the effects of climate change. Recently, Attenborough has stated we as humans must east less meat for the survival of our planet.
